Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
As stated by the American Physical Therapy Association “Physical therapists are movement experts who improve quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. Physical therapists diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to people at the end of life. Many patients have injuries, disabilities, or other health conditions that need treatment. But PTs also care for people who simply want to become healthier and to prevent future problems. A physical therapist examines each person and then develops a treatment plan to improve their ability to move, reduce or manage pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Physical therapists can have a profound effect on people’s lives. They help people achieve fitness goals, regain or maintain their independence, and lead active lives.”
AZPI is in East Mesa, and just minutes away from Gilbert and Queen Creek. Our cross roads are Pecos and Ellsworth. Our address is 8607 E Pecos Rd, Suite 116
Mesa, AZ 85212
We are open Mondays through Thursday from 8 am to 6 pm, and Fridays from 8 am to 3 pm.
We accept most major insurances. Call us at 480-500-1446 to confirm.
You do not need insurance to be treated at AZPI. We have cash pay options if you do not have insurance or choose not to go through insurance. We provide a variety of package deals for cash pay clients to suit your needs.
Depending on your insurance provider, you may or may not need a referral. It is important to check with your insurance company if you are unsure. AZPI does not require a referral or prescription since Arizona is a direct access state. If you plan to pay out of pocket, you do not need a doctor’s referral.
We recommend filling all new patient paperwork out online prior to your arrival if possible. This will ensure that you have the full amount of time for your physical therapy evaluation and that valuable time is not wasted filling out paperwork.
Wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing that allows for ease of movement. If you have an injury to a lower extremity that will require examination and/or manual therapy, please bring or wear shorts to your visit. You’ll need to bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a prescription from your doctor (if applicable) to your initial evaluation visit. These documents will be used to verify your identity and ensure a smooth billing process. You will not need these documents during your future visits.
